Conceptus features twelve spinning eggs in an industrial incubator. The eggs each have words taken from Idaho’s House Bill 460, making abortions illegal in the state of Idaho.  The eggs are spinning in an incubator to allow the viewer to read the entirety of the text while also impacting how the viewer reads, only allowing for fragmented sections to be read at a time. The spinning of the eggs also points to the recurring topic of women's reproductive rights in the United States. This work also comments on the overbreeding and mistreatment of chickens to produce eggs within factory farms. This work is informed by feminist artists such as Barbara Kruger and her work Who becomes a ‘murderer’ in post-Roe America?
