Blue Ridge is a sculpture that reflects the plant species I encountered while in the Blue Ridge Mountains. In this wearable piece,  the blooming form is connected to the breathing cycles used in meditation, while the radial designs of the flowers and foliage draw from mandalas. Blue Ridge is fabricated from hand-sawn low-carbon iron that I have vitreous enameled onto, utilizing a color palette where blue and green tones fade into one another. These colors are inspired by the layered appearance of the Blue Ridge Mountainscape as the sun rises and sets and the moisture of the clouds comfortably becomes nestled between the peaks and valleys.
